You can get free homeschooling materials through your school district or one of the online high schools….Kaplan, Insight, K12 or Connections Academy.
    Best of Luck!

Not all school districts will provide text books.. Mine won’t. ( not that I would use them anyway, just saying )

Go to the Library. Plenty of free books there!

As for what you’ll need, that depends on if you have to meet some state requirements or not. You’ll have to check with your state on that. If you don’t have to meet curriculum requirements you can just get what ever books strike your fancy.

If the public school district or online school is providing the materials for free, then it is most likely a public charter school or other public school program. There is nothing wrong with such programs, but by legal definition, in most areas they are not considered homeschooling. By participating in such programs, you would still be considered a public school student and would have to follow their schedule (holidays, vacations,hr and days that are considered school days etc)

As for homeschooling for free it can be done. You can find free lesson plans using research based or literature based lesson plans and then use the library and internet.
